ENDURANCE / SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

Evidence first.

Coverage, transformations and known limits of the endurance research preview.

Coverage

Modern WEC: 2012–2026, 14 real seasons and 108 completed races in this snapshot. WSC family: 1953–1992. ILMC: 2010–2011. Le Mans: 94 held editions, 1923–2026. The modern WEC snapshot ends at Barcelona, round 7 of 2026; Monza is scheduled, with no invented result.

Championship snapshots

WEC graphs use published ranks and championship totals. Explicit net points take precedence over gross totals. Each round/title selects one source document, prioritizing amendments and final publications; source links remain attached to the displayed snapshot. Class titles, manufacturers, entrant teams and individual drivers remain separate.

Missing snapshots stay blank. A published final document after one race does not mean the season is over. Badges use completed-season final-round title classifications; current leaders do not receive championship badges. Labels that cannot be safely matched across snapshots remain separate source entries.

PDF label recovery

The website build rechecks each published rank row against the source PDF to restore wrapped names, retain competitors cut off by the earlier name boundary, and associate rows with the nearest title heading on multi-table pages. Original numeric ranks and points are compared with the research snapshot; label/row recovery is recorded in the PDF recovery audit. The raw research archive is unchanged.

Historical scoring

Older WSC points, title eligibility, divisions, dropped scores and ties have not all been reconstructed round by round. Those views show published final standings and source round cells rather than fabricated intermediate ranks. ILMC has calendar, classification and season-reference coverage, with partial normalized championship snapshots.

Le Mans classifications

One stable edition identity links event and championship views, avoiding duplicate starts and wins. Full reference classifications supplement the organizer archive, whose pagination repeats its first 25 rows. There are 71 historical organizer/reference rank disagreements in the collected comparison. The reference classification remains visible, with disagreements documented rather than silently overwritten.

Original modern timing snapshots were reconciled against official final PDFs and organizer amendments, including the 2013 exclusion of car 26 and the 2017 exclusion of car 13. The two later amendments resolve 79 comparable raw rank differences. Le Mans pages retain the full edition reference and source links.

Points exceptions

Six 2012 David Heinemeier Hansson source rows have a printed total four points above visible component sums. Published values are retained. Audi’s 2012 manufacturers sheet distinguishes 209 total and 173 net points; championship mode uses the published net value.

People, teams and cars

Matching normalized full published labels are grouped. Initials and aliases are not automatically merged; shared crew text is retained where individual identities cannot be resolved. Car numbers are strings: 7 and 007 remain distinct. Entry records, non-starters and crew mentions are not all confirmed starts.

Endurance engine/chassis labels apply to cited race entries. F1DB chassis/engine records are season entrant candidates, not exact race chassis assignments. Missing specifications stay blank. A familiar model name does not establish every variant’s engine or chassis serial.

Sources and attribution

Research preview and reuse

No blanket commercial licence has been established for this mixed-source endurance archive. WEC website terms restrict reuse; other publishers’ terms and Wikipedia attribution/share-alike requirements remain relevant. Endurance pages omit the advertising loader while these arrangements are unresolved. This generated package is a research preview, not confirmation that the endurance content is cleared for public commercial distribution.
